The recent cold weather in the Niagara regions has been extreme but may also be a blessing in disguise for those visiting the falls tis season. It has turned the Niagara Falls into a winter wonderland freezing everything surrounding them. A great treat for those visiting!
As we transition from Autumn into Winter those visiting the Falls with BG Tours are in for a treat! Next weekend (November 18th) marks the start of Niagara Falls’ 35th Annual Winter Festival of Lights. It is set to continue until January 31st of next year.
Even though summer is coming to a close there is still a lot to look forward to in Niagara Falls. Some may argue that the best is yet to come. Autumn in Niagara Falls is wonderful, it officially begins September 22nd, and is particularly famous for the beautiful fall colours. In addition to that there are many events and activities to look forward to in Niagara this season: The Niagara Wine Festival (Sept 8th-24th), Skylon Tower being lit gold for Thanksgiving (Oct 9th), The Winter Festival of Lights (Nov 18th onwards) and performances from various talented artists that will be visiting the region this season!

Erendira Wallenda, wife of Daredevil Nik Wallenda — who walked tight rope over The Niagara Falls — is set to hang from a helicopter over the Falls by her toes and teeth. The event is set to happen this Thursday which marks the 5th anniversary of her husband’s stunt.
More exciting news for those visiting is the 7 million dollar renovation of the infamous Fallsview Casino. The reno will include new gaming machinery, entertainments spots and an improved overall experience.

Niagara Falls is one of Canada’s largest tourist attractions and this is a big year! Canada is set to celebrate its 150th anniversary this July 1st and the celebrations have already begun. A four million dollar renovation has been underway by the Niagara Falls illumination board to revamp the illumination of the Falls. The official lighting ceremony is set to take place on December 1st. Those visiting will enjoy twice as much light, a broader colour spectrum, and various technology improvements. Though winter is approaching tourists have plenty to see and look forward to.
